Edmund Boateng is a self-taught artist born and raised in Ghana, in the art community I like to go by KBoateng, I’m a fine art, portrait and conceptual artist based out of Columbus, Ohio.

Mfoninitwa san maa m’ani gyee adwinni akyi na ɛkyerɛɛ me kwan ma minhuu me ɔfrɛ ankasa wɔ asase so sɛ mfoniniyɛfo.
Na metaa ka sɛ m’adwinni no fi abɔde mu nanso sɛ ɔpanyin no m’adwinni no fi asetra mu osuahu ahorow, nnipa ne biribiara a atwa me ho ahyia mu. Mahu sɛ mede abufuw, adwenemhaw, adaeso, anisoadehu ne nnwom na ɛbɔ ade.
Artist Statement:
Art has always been around me, as a teenager I said I was going to be an artist but never had a clear direction of the kind of artist I wanted to be. I would say after many years I am one of the lucky
ones photography found, I started pursuing art as a pencil artist and right after my daughter was born in 2018 I felt like I’d lost the skill to draw and right then was when I got into photography and then specifically analog photography.
Photography gave me back the passion to pursue art and guided me finding my true calling on earth as an artist.
I used to say my art was inspired by nature but as an adult my art is inspired by life experiences, people and everything around me. I have realized I create out of anger, depression, dreams, visions and music.
